The Stone Hearth Inn, Chester Vermont - Photographed in the Winter of 2002/03 by Chris ClayFebruary 2008

Greetings!

If you arrived at this page looking for the Stone Hearth Inn of Chester Vermont, you are in the correct location!

I am Chris Clay, the former owner of the Inn (from the Fall of 2000 to the Spring of 2004).  And I am pleased to report after a difficult time during the Inn's history, it is NOW RE-OPEN with new owners (as of December 2007)!

Feel free to contact them at 802-875-2525, or on the web at:
www.stonehearthinnvermont.com.  If you are in the Southern Vermont area, stop in at 698 Route 11 West (travel about 1 mile west of the Chester Village Green).

I am also happy to report the Inn will retain the same name it has had since 1982!  Sadly, in 2007, when closed and for sale, the beautiful sign along the highway was stolen.  I understand a new sign is temporarily in place.  *Update: The original sign was recovered and now proudly is displayed at the Inn again.

As the Inn was my home, my pride and my joy for nearly 4 years, I am thrilled to support the new owner in returning the home and Inn to "better days" again.  I have provided a few information links, some saved from the original site I created for the Inn during my ownership.
